What's Tamara?

Tamara is one of the BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) payment methods offered by PayTabs to UAE aggregation merchants and KSA merchants which allows the users to split the payments over 2, 3 or 4 months. 


Tamara transaction limit: Minimum amount 1 AED > Maximum amount 5000 AED

-Tamara can be enabled for Live merchants in:

  • UAE 
  • KSA

Supported Currency

  • AED (For UAE)
  • SAR (For KSA)

Card Methods/Wallets accepted:

  • Visa/MasterCard
  • Apple Pay

Transaction Types supported by Tamara 

  • Sale
  • Full Refund
  • Partial Refund

How to activate Tamara?

To enable Tamara for customers on your checkout page, please follow these simple steps:

  1. Send an email request with your Profile ID and registered country to  PayTabs Sales team or your dedicated PayTabs coordinator
  2. Your request will be submitted by the sales team to Tamara's team to submit the required form.
  3. Once approved by Tamara, PayTabs will enable it on your checkout page, and you may start accepting Tamara payments from your customers.
Please note that Tamara can be enabled only for one profile with the related Trade License, unless if you have a different business with a separate trade license for each website.


NOTE: Test Terminal Option is not supported for "Tamara". 




Tamara Consumer Journey:


Step 1: Enter Mobile number and Customer Details.



Step 2: Enter OTP and accept Tamara’s Term & Conditions.




Step 3: Select installment tenor – options 2, 3, and 4 months.


Step 4: Enter Card details

The Refund Process Flow


  • The refunds for any Tamara's transaction can be done by the merchant via the PayTabs dashboard directly or via the Refund's transaction API  

    You can initiate a refund by following the steps in this article How to Refund an Authorized Transaction? 
  • There are no refunds available via Tamara's portal.



Tamara Settlement Flow


The transactions done using tamara Payment method will be settled in your PayTabs account' balance among the other transactions after 14 days of the transaction date
