PayTabs plugins make the integration with the PayTabs payment gateway very easy by providing a ready-made and easy-to-install plugin that enables you to be ready and go with a few steps, to get you up and running with your business.
In this article, we will walk you through how to control the type of transactions associated with your Magento website/store's orders. We highly recommend that you check our "What is the "tran_type" (transaction type)?" solution article first to understand the business/logic this configuration option relay on. To manage this configuration option, kindly follow the below steps:
If this option is not shown in the selected payment method (such as "PayTabs - Mada") configuration page, that's mean that this payment method doesn't operate in other mode than the "Sale" one.
1. From your Magento admin panel, Navigate to the Stores menu, then select the Configurations menu item.
2. In the "Configurations" page, and from the “Sales” tab, select the "Payment Methods" menu item.
3. Expand the preferred payment method from the provided list by PayTabs of the supported payment methods available.
4. Finally, choose the type of the transaction that will be associated with your orders paid via this payment method as shown below:
Choosing "Sale" will directly deduct the payment from the customer's bank account if the payment is successfully authenticated, and credited to your PayTabs bank account.
On the other hand, if you choose "Auth" this will charge the customer indeed but will authorize (hold) the order amount only on the customer's issuer to be captured (transferred to your PayTabs bank account) later.
Authorized orders can be fully/partialy captured manually either from Magento admin panels > Sales > Orders > [Selected Order] > Invoice > Catpture, or manually as well, but from the merchant's Paytabs dashboard.
Same for refunding/releasing this authorized amount back to the customer (fully and partially).
But if you choose to check on the "Use system value" checkbox, then the "Sale" will be selected as a value for this configuration option.
