AVS refers to Address Verification Service.
It only applies to credit cards issued from banks in the following countries: (USA, CANADA, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom). It means that the billing details entered by the cardholders at the point of purchase should match the details of their issued cards.
It's very important that state and zip code fields are passed with correct information to ensure the AVS matches and thus passes transactions successfully.
