TRU is a Mobile application and website that provides financial services it is currently available for PayTabs merchants as one of the BNPL (buy now, pay later) payment methods offered in Egypt, which allows installments for the customers over various periods starting from 6,12,18,24,30 up to 60 months.

TRU is available for Live merchants in Egypt.

Activation Requirements


-As a merchant, you need to have active accounts on both PayTabs & TRU.


-To activate TRU: send a request to your account manager, if you don't have a contact for him/her please do not hesitate to contact customercare-eg@paytabs.com along with your Merchant ID.

Supported Transaction Type, Currency & Amount

  • Transaction types supported:

    Refund

  • Supported Currencies:
    EGP.
  • The minimum transaction amount to use TRU is:
    500 EGP
  • The maximum transaction amount: 
    Dependent on the merchant's account. 

TRU Payment Workflow (User Experience)


The TRU payment method is hosted by PayTabs, which means that it will be managed and processed on our side. You can have the same page embedded in your checkout page by following our: How to not redirect my customers to an external payment page? (iFrame/Embedded Mode) solution article.


Once the customer is redirected to the payment page, he/she will be able to pick TRU as shown below.

 


Consumer Journey 


Step 1: Select TRU as the payment method and then enter TRU ID.





 

Step 2:  Keep the Tru App open. Customers need to select the installment tenor, choosing from a range of 6 to 60 months that suits the customer needs.



 



Step 3: Add the Token received in TRU application.


 



Finally, when the customer clicks Confirm, he will receive the success message below.


 Additionally, customer will receive an Order confirmation in-app notification   


 


For the merchants: Transactions that are paid through TRU will be tagged in the payment method in the transaction detailed window as shown below.

WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart 3, OpenCart 4, PrestaShop, Shopify.

The Settlement Flow

 

Please note that settlement for any TRU-related transaction, is handled by TRU directly and the settlement happens in the 1st week of the next month.

The Refund Process Flow

 

You can refund any transaction from the merchant dashboard normally either Full or Partial refund, and it may take up to 14 business days for the refund to be processed.
