This article is dedicated to walking you through how to capture a transaction related to one of your Shopify orders. You should know that this will be active ONLY if you have configured the Payment Capture method on your Shopify settings (2.1 - Configure the order payment type (transaction type)) to be "Manually".


Note that all of the follow-up transactions for Our Shopify Plugin MUST be done through your Shopify admin panel, attempting to perform any follow-up transactions through our APIs upon any Shopify transaction will be declined.

There are two ways to capture an authorized transaction:


The authorized transaction which created via the Shopify channel can't be captured from the merchant dashboard.

    



Full Capture


You will be able to capture the transaction related to one of your Shopify orders via your Shopify admin dashboard by following the below steps:


  • Login to your Shopify store admin panel, then navigate to the "Orders" menu on the left sidebar.
  • Select the tagged "Authorized" order under the "Payment Status" you want to capture.


  • Then click on the "Capture Payment" button.
  • A popup confirmation box will display. Kindly confirm the amount and press Accept.

  • Only then, the order will be affected by this action and will be shown in the orders as a "Paid" order. 

Partial Captures

You will be able to partially capture the transaction related to one of your Shopify orders (capture specific amount) via your Shopify admin dashboard by following the below steps:


  • Login to your Shopify store admin panel, then navigate to the "Orders" menu on the left sidebar.
  • Select the tagged "Authorized" order under the "Payment Status" you want to capture.
  • Then, you will need to provide the specific partial amount you want to capture then click on the "Accept" button.
  • Only then, the order will be affected by this action and will be shown in the orders as a "Partially Paid" order.
