As a merchant, you need to have the following documents and requirements: 

  • Active account on PayTabs

What are the Features that VaLU supports?


VaLU Transactions will have the following features:

  • Transaction type: Sales ONLY. 

    To know other transaction types that PayTabs provides please check our What are the transaction types? solution article. 

  • Currencies supported: EGP

  • And some other services that are exclusively supported under the ValU payment method as shown below:
    • ValU Receipt Option

      This feature is required if the customer wants the receipt/agreement of his installment and you can extract it by following the below steps:
      • Navigate to the transaction tab




      • Choose the paid transaction through ValU.

      • Go to Payment Method inside the transaction details, you'll see the description. Kindly click on the magnifier icon.




      • A new pop-up will appear with valU transaction details, and from there, you have the option to print it




      • Only then it is printed as shown below:

      • ValU disable/enable: "Cashback"\" ToU" \"Down Payment"

        • Cashback: typically refers to a promotional incentive where a portion of your purchase amount is returned to your valU account after making a qualifying purchase. You can then use this cashback for future transactions, For the most current and detailed information, please refer to ValU Egypt's official website or contact their customer support "16671".

        • ToU: typically refers to where the customer can borrow a limit from another customer who has an active ValU account, For the most current and detailed information, please refer to ValU Egypt's official website  or contact their customer support "16671".

        • Down Payment: Typically refers to where the customer can pay an upfront amount directly to the merchant if his limit is not enough.

      • This feature is one of the ValU features and to be able to configure it ,please follow the below steps.
        • Navigate to the merchant dashboard, click on profile on the side then you will see ValU down payment limits click on it to edit as shown below.

        • After that, you will be able to enable/disable the: Cashback/ ToU / Down Payment

How to activate ValU?


Merchants must have ACTIVE PayTabs and ValU accounts.


  • Merchants in Egypt can enable ValU as an APM directly by raising a request to [email protected]  along with your Merchant ID.

  • If you were:
    • E-commerce "Online Presence": You will need to sign a ValU e-commerce contract, which can be provided by the Egypt sales team
    • Retail "Offline": You will need to sign a ValU retail contract which can be provided by the Egypt sales team.
    • Marketplace - Paymes: You will need to sign a ValU Freelance contract, which can be provided by the Egypt sales team 




ValU Payment Workflow (User Experience)


ValU payment method is hosted by PayTabs, which means that it will be managed and processed on our side. You can have the same page embedded in your checkout page by following our How to not redirect my customers to an external payment page? (iFrame/Embedded Mode) solution article.


Using the ValU payment method (via one of our integration methods listed in our How to integrate with PayTabs? solution article), when the cardholder proceeds to checkout on the merchant side, they will be redirected to the PayTabs hosted page which then he can choose the ValU payment method to choose one of the many settlement options he would have.


Only after he receives an OTP on his prefilled mobile number he will need to provide in the hosted OTP page. Providing the right OTP will lead to a successful transaction as shown in the below story images:

The Settlement Flow


Kindly note that ValU settlement happens the first 15 days of every month directly by ValU or through us.



The Refund Process Flow


The refund can be either a full or Partial refund as it's instant in ValU App.
